The most innovative design Britain has to offer.

NEWGEN, Vauxhall Fashion Scout, Fashion East, Estethica, Fashion Fringe and On/Off hold bespoke pieces made in tiny numbers. Keep your eyes peeled for new emerging labels featured at London Fashion Week 2010, you could be owning a piece of the next up and coming McQueen.

From humble beginnings at East London's Brick Lane market The Orphan's Arms experienced a fantastic response to their poignant and reactionary motif; it seemed there were more than just a few similarly minded individuals jaded with the modern face of faceless manufacture.

Wear as a vest, as a layer or as a brief dress. This irreverent 'Saint Martins Must Burn' piece is sure to start and stop conversations as soon as you show its face.

A few of my favourite pieces.......

Share the spirit and fascinating layers of this city through the words and faces of those who live here.

People come to San Francisco to be part of something, be part of the changing world and place their passion into something productive. These people are true pioneers of that movement.

Everyone has their own way of connecting with a new city. I found a San Francisco living room in the alleyways of the Mission and Soma. The network on the ground of murals and hidden doorways to crowded apartments- this was the side of San Francisco I got to know intimately. The city becomes most alive when you learn it's vibrant history.

There is an overabundance of talent in the city with people dedicated to sharing emerging artists and building community consciousness through the arts including elaborate theatre productions and live recording sessions. San Francisco is edgy and sassy a place where you can passionately love your work and community.

"I've always been a music fanatic and applied my organising to the arts when I realised there weren't a lot of places to showcase the talent in the city. I co-founded a performance venue space dedicated to bringing people together. We called the space Locus Arts. By day I was creating new neighbourhood models, and by night I was privileged to be part of an amazing collective braindump of creativity."

"I am a nerd with velocity… an aerodynamic nerd, a nerd who needs to meet adventure head-first with little regard to his own or anyone else’s safety. It is hard to explain exactly what I mean by this so I will give you some examples; I am a nerd who needs to dance, to dress in costume on a weekly basis, to go to bear bars for the cheap drinks and the congenial patrons, to strut across the city in little more than my skivvies to prove a point, to attend to art functions in the day, and get mugged in the park at night. A nerd with velocity needs diversity, adventure, and a sense of unbridled freedom. A nerd like me needs a city like San Francisco"

"I’ve recently started collecting pieces of scrap metal I find in the street. I’ve always been a collector, but previously my habit had been limited to Legos or CDs or typewriters — useful things. Now I pick up discarded hunks of rusty metal.I mentioned this to a friend, saying, “If I’d been picking it all up, I’d have a gallery-ready art project on my hands by now.” My friend said, “You should do it!” I said, “No, no, then I’d be an insane person". The compulsive collector in me took over, and now the piles of junk on my coffee table at home and on my desk at work are getting bigger every day. I’ve gotten some good stuff on Valencia, on Duboce, and on Bryant"

A trip under the arches and Bethnal Green's best kept secret.

Fed up of being treated like a robot? Well that's how I feel when I get my haircut. Over-friendly excitable hair dressers force their 'miracle' products on you when all you want is a relaxing experience. In London its difficult to find. Your just one of many. Thats why when I stumbled across this place I was absolutely delighted.

10 Gales is a sanctuary, catering for your every need. Whether it be fashion, live music, art, secret cinema, nude poetry or indeed a hair cut.  Within seconds your no longer one of many and invited to their next media event.

10 Gales unisex Salon prices: Every cut between £5 and £15
seriously undercuts the average London Stylist.
